Molecular Weight
As any protein, one characteristic of importance when describing Peptan™ is molecular weight. It refers to the average length of the protein chains that constitute Peptan™.
Peptan™ is available in two standard grades, actually depending on this average molecular weight:
-
The Peptan™ 2000 series with molecular weight averaging 2000-Da. This means that the peptide chains average 20 amino-acids in length
-
The Peptan™ 5000 series with molecular weight averaging 5000-Da. This means that the peptide chains average 50 amino-acids in length
Given methods are not standard; the user who wants to compare two products will make sure they are tested in the same method.
