Rousselot ‘s leadership is built on its expertise in gelatine and hydrolyzed collagen.
Rousselot® produces in its 12 plants based on all continents. The manufacture of these products requires the greatest possible care, especially with regard to raw material supplies, processes, traceability and final products have to conform to most stringent food standards and pharmacopoeias.
Gelatine is obtained through the partial hydrolysis of collagen contained in animal skin and bones. As a protein, gelatine has the unique ability to form a thermo-reversible gel. It is particularly adapted to maintain taste, texture and shelf stability in applications in which fat, sugar or salt for example have been reduced.
Hydrolyzed Collagen – branded Peptan™ - is a protein obtained through enzymatic hydrolysis of collagen. Contrary to Rousselot Gelatine, Peptan™ exhibits no gel strength and is used for its protein content (97% dry weight pure natural protein), Rousselot has developed a complete range of products in order to meet the always more demanding requirements of the nutritional, bone and joint health and beauty markets.
